ChatXport Web Terms of Service
1. Agreement to these terms
By using the Service, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. What ChatXport Web is
ChatXport Web is a browser-based tool that lets you open a WhatsApp chat export on your own device and view, search, filter, and export it to spreadsheet or PDF formats. All processing of your chat file happens locally in your browser. We do not receive, upload, or store your chat content. ChatXport Web does not connect to WhatsApp, does not access any WhatsApp account, and works only with chat files you export yourself.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old, or have the consent of a parent or guardian, to use the Service.
4. Your responsibilities and acceptable use
You are responsible for the chat files you open and what you do with them. You agree that:
- You will only process chats that you have the right to access and use.
- You are responsible for complying with any laws that apply to you when handling chat content, including privacy and consent rules. Group chats contain messages from other people; you are responsible for how you use and share them.
- You will not use the Service for any unlawful, harmful, or abusive purpose, or to infringe anyone's rights.
- You will not attempt to break, misuse, reverse engineer, or interfere with the Service or its security.
5. Free and paid versions
The Service offers a free version that lets you view up to 300 messages per chat, and a paid full version that unlocks the complete chat. The full version is a one-time payment of USD 9 (or the equivalent in your local currency, such as KES, at checkout). Once unlocked, the full version stays available in the browser where you bought it. If you clear your browser data or move to another device, you can restore your unlock using your order reference.
6. Payments and refunds
Payments are processed by our payment provider, Pesapal, and associated networks. By purchasing, you agree to their processing of your payment. Prices and applicable taxes are shown at checkout. Refunds are handled according to our Refund Policy, which is incorporated into these terms by reference.
7. Intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design, and content, is owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service for its intended purpose. You keep all rights to your own chat data; we claim no ownership of it and, as noted, never receive it.
8. No affiliation with WhatsApp or Meta
ChatXport is an independent product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by WhatsApp LLC or Meta Platforms, Inc. "WhatsApp" is a registered trademark of WhatsApp LLC. ChatXport works only with chat files you export yourself and does not access WhatsApp services, accounts, or APIs.
9. Third-party services
The Service relies on third parties such as Cloudflare for hosting, Pesapal for payments, and GoDaddy for email. Your use of those services is also subject to their terms, and we are not responsible for their acts or omissions.
10. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that exports will be complete or accurate in every case, since the content depends on the file WhatsApp produced. You are responsible for keeping your own backups of important data.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, damages, and expenses arising out of your use of the Service or your breach of these terms, including your handling of chat content.
13. Privacy
Our handling of information is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
14. Changes to the Service and these terms
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue parts of the Service, and we may update these terms from time to time. The updated terms take effect when posted, with a revised effective date. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
15. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya, and you agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Nairobi, Kenya for any dispute, except where applicable law gives you other rights.
